Extended Warranty... Is it worth it?

So I have 1000 miles on my new WRX and wanted to know what folks thought about the SOA extended warranty. I got 3 more years and 44,000 miles of extended warranty for $1600 which brings the total to 6 years and 80,000 miles of SOA warranty. I have 90 days to back out of it and am on the fence on whether keep it or not.
I generally keep cars for about 5 years or so and want to know what others thoughts are on the subject.
Thanks!

5 year 100,000 mile
i purchased the 5year 100,000 mile for 1450.00 on my wrx03, because after having a VW 2000 passat and VW 1995 jetta, I needed the comfort of the large warrenty.
Hrm when I bought my 2002 WRX two weeks ago they gave me the option of "upgrading" the factory warranty to a full 5years/60,000 miles for $599. I figured for $600 and it's a manufacturers warranty not one of the aftermarket one's why the hell now, so I got it. And as I plan on keeping the car at least that long it's worth it 8)

Did you get a 2002 or 2003? Was it brand new? So you got an extra 2 years and 24k miles for $600 yes? So that's obviously $300 per year or 12k miles...
Hmmmm... So I paid $1600 for an additional 3 years or 44k miles which works out to be $533 per year....
Sounds like I got the short end of the stick... Did they stick any deductable on the warranty extention?

www.subaruwarranty.com
I just got off the phone with my dealership and found out that the deals being offered by the above website WILL NOT be honored by SOA. Apparently SOA is suing these folks (some dealership back east I was told) and there are some issues here...
Buyer Beware...

Did you call Subaru directly? I would not trust a dealer especially if you are trying to cancel your policy :-). You may also want to check http://subaruwrxparts.com/, they are also selling extended warranty.

Oh I'm going to dig into it a little deeper for sure... Did you actually get an extended warranty from www.subaruwarranty.com? What research did you do?

I did not get an extended warranty yet, I am still thinking about it (while waiting for the refund on the extended warranty I had on my previous car (Outback) :-).
Last time I actually received an offer in the mail directly from Subaru, I am pretty sure they are going to send something similar for the new car. You don't have to buy the extended warranty right away, there is plenty of time to shop around.
