Extended Warranty and other add ons
Hey all,
So, when I was up in the finance dept I got hit with the normal add-on specials.
You know, warranty, maintenance pkg, clear bra. After all was said and done it added another 2K to my OTD costs!
I took a pass on them even though the dealer really tried to push them. We all know why they do it, but what I'm now wondering is if I should look at an after market warranty, or should I wait until I'm closer to my 36K?
What has everyone else done? Get the dealer warranty or go aftermarket?
Also, anyone got any clear bra recommendations in the Denver area?
Mike

The clear bras are useless and can damage your paint later on. The worst one I saw was 5 years old and was brown instead of clear. As for warranty, it depends if you are going to mod up the car or keep it close to stock. If you mod it heavily the upgrade will be useless later on. It is always a good idea to have a warranty be the length of your loan. 60 month loan 60 month warranty. Again unless you heavily mod the vehicle....As for aftermarket or Subaru. In Colorado you can negotiate the price of the warranty and its almost always a bad idea to go with an aftermarket warranty they never cover as much and usally cause problems when you need to make a claim. I tell customers every day. If you buy a LExus get a lexus warranty, if you buy a Honda get a honda warranty.. Never worth the aftermarket especially in a state where you can negotiate on price for it. just call around and ask dealers for their prices.

The product is probably the best investment in keeping a car looking good over long periods of time and will increase the trade in value of your car.
The product is guaranteed not to yellow, crack or fade. A couple of year back the product would still do that, but they have gone into another generation of the film in 2001 and the product is a lot better now.
If you need help getting a good deal on a kit let me know.
