Extended Warranty

Im planning on getting an 04 wrx. Do any of you guys get the extended warranty when you buy the car? Any of you think I should get it. My dad suggested for me to get it because he says subaru parts could be costly later on if anything should happen. I have faith in the wrx and think the 3 year warranty will be enough for me. I will not be doing any mods until 3 year warranty is up. Thanks.

Personally I didn't go for the extended warranty. I've had them for other cars that I owned and I really didn't make full use of them. You could also consider a 3rd party vendor for extended warranties as well... I think geico and other insurance companies sell them. It could be cheaper than buying from the dealer.

Don't get it. It's a gamble in favor of Subaru (and others companies of course). Statistically, if the car makes it to 3 years with no problems there is little chance it will break in the extended period either.

i took that gamble and came out on top. 3 years...sure, but if you put on a lot of miles, it could be 1.5-2 years.

anyhow, there is an online site where you can purchase the extended warranty for much cheaper than what the dealer will offer it for. run a search either on here or NASIOC and i'm sure you'll find it.

looking back, i'm SO glad i bought my warranty. i'm sure i'm one of the very few who thinks so though.

If you're going to mod the car, then don't get it. They wouldn't honor it anyway. If you are going to keep the car stock, then it might be a worthwhile investment...
