faulty cruise control: 90 legacy AWD wagon 5spd
Hey suby experts, the light on the dash goes on when you press it and you hear that click sound telling you its functioning. But when I'm driving and go to engage the lever on the steering wheel, it won't set the cruise no matter what.
I've replaced the lever on the steering wheel and put in a new relay switch (the red one behind the fuse box) all to no avail. I'm totally stumped. Can anyone help??

The first thing to check if the cruise control stops working on a 5 speed is the clutch switch stopper. It typically breaks off and leaves a hole that the clutch switch button sticks through(the stopper should push the clutch switch button in when the clutch pedal is at the top of its travel). This is a 2 or 3 dollar part that is easy to install. Just get under the dash and push down on the clutch pedal, then pop the new stopper into the hole. The cruise control will not operate if the clutch switch is not depressed(thus it disengages the cruise control when the clutch pedal is operated).
Hope this works for you-

what's the diff between 215 and 225? Just want wider tires!
I am currently using ADR Sokudo rims 225x45x17....Fender's shaved off! dunno wat offset it is....
I'm thinking of purchasing SDR's 17x7.5 on a budget...... So, i can put on my Brembo Brakes on......

The difference is 10mm in tire width. As long as the tires don't rub,you are OK. There is no reason to use 7.5" wide rims-they are just heavier than the 7" and unnecessary for the tires you are running. The big brakes should work fine as long as you use the 17" diameter wheels.
