Car Info: 1997 Subaru Legacy Outback

97 legacy outback cruise control issues

It just plain doesn't work. The cruise control button light comes on, yet I can't set it. I've verified fuses are ok, where is the cruise control module under the hood? I may need to replace it.

Look on the passenger side of the motor bay. It’s hard to explain. It might be a vacuum issue. The cruise control is operated under a vacuum system.

Sorry but I don’t have much info on it, I removed my cruise control.

Clutch switch

There is a switch behind your clutch pedal that is probably the culprit you're seeking. Just had the same issue on my '97 gt. The switch costs $1.97 at subaru service and 1/2 hour labor if you have them fix it.
