creaking noise when comming off throttle

Sometimes I hear this creaking noise and occasionlly a thunk comming from the front of the car when comming off throttle.
Also when braking at slow speed fex at a stop sign or driving around a parking lot.

I thought it was most changing down to 2nd but that's not the case.

I thought it was due to a missing bolt in the exhaust hanger just behind the engine but I replaced the bolt and it still does it.

Anyone else had this problem or know of it?

thx
Tim

Actually I think I may know what the creaking is. I think the fuel filter clip may make this sound. Since the fuel lines attach it to the body and to the engine, it get torqued when the engine decelerates. I'll have to play with that some more.

I forgot I had this problem when the car was nearly new so I guess its back.

The thunk is still a worry though.

well it turned out to be a loose engine mount bolt.
