Break-in (long distance driving during it) Q?
Hi all!
I'm about 2 weeks from my new WRX wagon (I'm about to explode! I can't wait!) and have a question about break-in. No...not the constant argument about "drive it like you stole it" vs. "by the book".
The issue I have it that I drive 81 miles one way to work each day on the freeway (just about ALL is freeway driving). Since engine break-in isn't about vehicle speed, but engine rpm would it be safe to make this journy during break-in just making sure that I change RPMs (not going over 4K) about every 15 minutes? i.e.: drive in 4th then drive in 5th, back to 4th and so on?
Just wondering!
Thanks.

Car Info: A limousine with a chauffer
that should be good. As part of the break in for my car I took it through a bunch of mountain roads (from Sacramento to the sierra mountains to Tahoe, then the next day out to the coast).
I took it over 4k a few times though (shhhhhhh)
