Buying an RS in 2005

I'm new here, so hello everyone!

As you can tell by the thread title, I'm fairly decided on an RS after test driving a 04 today. There really aren't that many threads on this forum about an RS, except "should I get a WRX or an RS," so I'm simply wanting to know more about the 2.5 Imprezas: the goods and the bads. So if you guys have any info (other than the car specs, got my consumer reports collection here :P) that would be awesome!

Also, I'm in Sacramento and I want to make a few slight mods to it. First, I want to change out the front seats to something more WRX racing style, so what's a good place to pick them up with rails out here? Second, I want to get a sunroof or moonroof and I want to know what the difference is between the two, if any. I've never had a sunroof/moonroof, so sorry for the dumbass question. So, are there any recommendations on where to buy and install a sunroof or moonroof?

One last "UNMANLY!!" question. Car color is quite important to me, and probably to most, since you want to be able to look at your car and say "damn, that's one nice color" and you also want exactly what you want for dishing out 20 g's. I LOVE the WR Blue Pearl for the WRX's, but the only shade of blue for the RS is the Pacifica Blue Pearl, which is ok, but not what I want exactly. So, do you guys think that Sub will release the WR Blue for the RS in 2005, and if not, what's a good paint shop in Sac for cheap that can do this paint job?

Thanks guys!
-Ron-

gdogg - So are you talking about the WRX? I'm asking of WR Blue will be on the RS 2.5 models in 2005.

Jeffemp - What's the specs of the RS Pro?

World Rally Blue has always been a WRX/STi color, so it's very doubtful to see WRB on an RS.

i was wondering also about the rs, dont want to jack ur post but maybe this will help you too but the difference between RS and WRX? the most obvious of course is the no turbo and no hood scoop, but other than that, is the body and lights and evyerhting else the same? i would expect cheaper interior of course.

No rear LSD on the 02+ RS either.

As for the seats, you won't need rails if you are just putting in stock WRX seats.

Nice to see another Sac person. Unfortunately I can't help you out with the paint question.

But, if you need any other help with your Subaru in Sac, contact S-Squared (http://www.ss-ms.com). they might even be able to help you out with getting/installing some seats (both stock WRX and aftermarket seats).

Also, come out to one of our Weekly Sac meets (https://www.i-club.com/forums/showth...threadid=30788)

Thanks for your help nKoan. Do the stock STi seats fit the RS and WRX rails? God damn those look comfy. There's usually a pair on ebay for $250 or so.

Awesome, S-Squared is quite close to me, I'm off of Zinfandel and Folsom. Are they cool about just walking in and shooting them down with questions?

I'll definitely show up to one of the meets soon and bug ya'll. I'll have to bring my buddy (01 RS owner) so I'm not a geek rollin in with my broken down Tacoma.

I'm fairly certian the STi seats would fit too. The chasis is still the same as the RS, so I think its almost safe to assume that the bolt holes match up.

Yeah, you can just walk into s^2 during business hours. They may not be someone sitting at the front desk, but they will be around the shop somewhere, either in the garage or one of the back offices.

Stuff is a little busy right now, but I don't see any reason why they can't answer a few questions.

They should also be able to help you out with the hood scoop question too.
