i would buy from private seller. just make sure no accident and good service record. also bring it to AAA or dealership for a full inspection of the vehicle before the purchase. the 1.9 is until the end of the month with max 63 months finance.

clutch shudder is when you first engage the clutch it shakes like there is no tomorrow. especially when it's cold. I only had it in cold morning and only in first gear. Some people have it in even reverse. Until I had to replace under warranty, I had to either just take off really fast or slip in at 1.8k-2k rpm.

LOL

just because you buy from a private seller doesn't always guarantee that the sale is a good one. you might be able to save a few thousand. but make sure you can trust that seller. buying from a dealer does have its benefits. a private seller cannot offer you a ext. warranty like a dealer nor is the private seller bound by law to extend a professianal business service. just say you find something wrong with the car(not covered under warranty) but the private seller never disclosed it to you. yeah, you might be able to get compaensated for your troubles, but the reality is- buying from a private seller is typically "as-is". its not like they can say "okay, bring the car in and we'll have our service dept. look at it."

not trying to promote buying from a dealership just because i work @ one... but make sure that you can TRUST the private seller(whether its a friend or not) because whether you buy from a dealer or P.O. it still a lot of money no matter how you look at it.
either way- use your resources(carfax.com, DMV, kbb.com, edmunds)

hope that helps
