30,000 Mile CheckUp???
Well I have an 02 with 34,4xx miles... I found this paper from the dealer the other day with a list of things that needed to be done at 30,000 miles. I don't have the list in front of me at this time, but I can get it and post some of the things it says it needs to do.
Anyone get this done?
I have engine mods and don't want to have to take them off to get this done, would I have to?
What do you think?
BJ

iirc the 30k checkup was nothing more than an oil change and fluid check. if you baby your car you've probably changed all your fluids a couple of times by now
one of the books that came with the car was a preventative maintenence schedule. check it out.. you might want to check your brake pads, spark plugs, rotate your tires, etc.

it's a bunch of BS. most of the stuff on there is nothing more than a way for the dealer to make some cash. the cost of the tune up is about 400-500 bucks. just go to a certified shop and have them change the fuel filter and check the spark plugs. if you have an aftermarket air filter...you might want to clean it or change the original one of it's still in there. it should be about a two hour job.
the subaru fuel filter should cost about $26 bucks, and the filter if you need one if about $40...but just get a green filter or K&N (go with green!!!)
should run ya about 160-170 bucks.
you don't have to take the car to subaru to have the work done. you can take it to any certified shop and still keep your warranty and all that jazz.
