2004 wrx common problems?

2004 wrx common problems?

i am thinking about buying a 2004 wrx with 38000 miles on it. i hear the transmissions are junk on the 2002-03 wrx was this fixed on the 04-05? and are thier any other problems?

I would also be interested in any replies to the question. I am intersted in a 2004 wrx and am currently selling my 2003 Tiburon. I have heard the struts go out a lot on the 04's.

My struts went at 59k, covered under warranty.

The trann's aren't junk. It's all in how you drive it. If you launch it daily, you can look to replace some Synchros and possibly first and second gear at least once in your driving career with the 5SPD M/T.

It's better to slip the clutch some, than break tranny gears.

The rear tops of the '04 STi's are by far the worst. And i'm pretty sure that you'll want to replace the struts with something aftermarket anyways.
