'06 2.5i intake issues
I recently put a cold air intake on my 2.5i. It's a solid install., no air leaks. I did not take off the 'bread box' that's attached the the throttle body. I simply replaced the stock corrugated pipe with a smooth one, and with a cone filter on the end. It is not a custom made intake, you can buy it at a parts store, you piece the parts together to fit your application. They even had the correct mass air flow sensor fitting. Within 50 miles, the check engine light comes on. The code is "lean engine condition." Too much air?? I did try and blocking some of the air drawn in by the cone filter, with the same results. I'm tired of disconnecting the battery to clear it, lol.
Thx

Hey i had the smae problem but my check engine light came on in like 5 miles.i built my own ram air.so i jus droped backin the orginal intake.im sucking it up an buying an after market one.you can probably try an intstal a diffrent air filter.cause some give more turbulence than others. question did you disconnect the negative battery terminal before you start.

No, i didn't........however, it must be a "soft" code, because i d/c'd the neg. battery terminal to get rid of it. Bad thing is it keeps coming back, lol. Needless to say, i put the stock one back on.
