Dude, honestly who pays over 10 grand for a carbon fiber tandom bike. I mean do you really need carbon fiber. Are you that rich. Are you trying to break some sort of world speed record for tandom bicycle riding. I mean honetsly whats the deal wouldn't a couple hundred dollar metal frame serve the same purpose. I honestly don't mean to bag or be rude or anything it just does not make ANY sense to me at all.

I wouldn't spend 5 grand on a turbo either. What I was trying to say is. Is this like a competitive sport or something. I don't follow cycling so I really wouldn't know. I just thought that they got the bike just to ride around town in. Which to me seems a little weird, but maybe thats just me. I honestly was not trying to bag on anyone. Just trying to make sense thats all.
Having competed in XC MTB racing in a past life, I can understand the bike purchase, my bike wasn't cheap either (Dean USA - almost the cost of an STi engine). I would even go as far as to say that bike components evolve quicker than car parts... and the prices can get quite high!!
oh yeah... single most expensive purchase for the car? STi ver7 engine..
