Expensive stuff you have spent on a single Item?
For me It was Bride seats $980 plus seat rail $280=1260 oh thats not including tax
im hella poor now

curious about the bike too. who built it? we have a carbon frame maker here in maine called Aegis. they make some nice frames. but who makes a custom tandem road frame?

my most expensive were my Mille Miglia wheels with yokohama tires. $950 from tirerack.com. tirerack is awesome by the way.

You certainly have a valid point.
However, I figure spandex or leather...it's all the same. Just don't wear spandex going 100mph.
