i am paying for my wrx myself and im picky about how many miles will be on it when i purchase it in a few weeks. i want to find one with as low miles as possible and with absolutly no test drives done with it. i want to order one from japan but i dont know how dealers handle it if they have plenty wrx's on hand and a costumer wants to order one. are they always cool with it or will they try and sell one with miles. also what is the lowest a car can have if ordered directly from japan. can it be 0 or does it have to be driven a little by factory. please let me know whats up thanx...

Usually new cars have between 5-20 miles on them. We bought our civic with 7 miles on it, and our WRX with 12 miles on it. They HAVE to drive it around a little bit to see if everything works on the car. Anything that is test driven will have quite a few more miles on it. They usually call those "demo cars". Those are treated well (almost always)... they keep them looking nice, they service it, etc becuase they are trying to sell ppl cars using the demo car as an example. If you are going to buy used, a demo car is not a bad idea.

I'd rather not buy a demo car, especially a WRX. Probably been abused on the test drives to see what it can do, and not properly broken in. If you go to a dealership and tell them you want to order a car, they should have no problem with it. They are going to get your money either way, and if they won't do anything other than sell you something on the lot, then just take your business elsewhere.

avoid buying a demo at all costs. when i test drove a WRX the first time the sales person got on it and red lined numerous times adn then provoked me to (although it didn't take much). The demo's engines are torn up, they get no break in peroid. get one with very few miles.
I ordered mine and when i first looked at it she only had like 3 or 4 miles on it. when i finally picked it up i think there were closer to 15.
proper break in for an engine is crucial.
just my $.02
