25 about to turn 26, single male, bay area, clean record, car will be garaged here. The lowest quote I got was from AAA for 14xx a year (I thought AAA was supposed to be more expensive???). I've been to liberty mutual (1800/yr), State Farm, Farmers, Mercury were (all were around 1700-2000 per year!!!). My Wawanesa quote should be arriving in the mail soon.
Why is it so damn high??? Is it the area?

there are a couple of factors that they rate you, your driving record is no.1, your zip code, and how many miles a year you drive your car, at first they(wawanesa ins) gave me a quote of $545 a yr. driving the wrx as a weekend car, then I canceled the policy on my other car and my premium went up to $300 a yr, still not bad I'm driving about 15,000 miles a yr.

I am 24 and single here. Had 1 not at fault accident 3 years ago when a 16 year old ran a stop sign doing 35 (he was coming out of a parking lot) and t-boned me. I have no tickets and went thru drivers-ed. I’m currently paying 1,250 a year on a 95 Ford Contour.

I am looking into purchasing a 03 WRX sedan within the next couple months so I’ve been looking into insurance on it. Geico just quoted me 3,250 a year which is just highway robbery.

Can anyone recommend some other cheaper insurance company, or how about tips on keeping the rates low?
