I understand why FWD and RWD needs tire rotating, but is AWD necessary to rotate just wondering since i'm assuming it does wear the same?

I rotate mine. I get non directional tires as well. Idk I do it cause I want even wear.

 

Yeah i'm probably going to get mines rotated tomorrow just cause, I mean it's inexpensive so why not? Haha

 

its smart to do so, you may not see much difference in wear but like my sti it has an adjustable diff which means its not always 50/50

If your not seeing much difference then your car is defying physics. Your front tires do most of the braking and all of the turning. Unless you're driving in a RWD car and constantly spinning the tires, your front tires will always wear faster.

 

Your fronts will wear faster and at a different pattern than your rears as you are putting directional force on them during turning.

This is why it is a good idea to rotate your tires. I find my rears wear very evenly so I will usually only rotate when my inner and outer line on my frionts are worn. It has worked out very well.

If you are bored and want somthing to do with your car Les Shwab and Big O both offer free tire rotation. This is because they want an opportunity to sell you thier highly overpriced tires. So use em for rotation.
