Help please!

Ok so I got a 2007 wrx( first Subaru ever). Now when I'm in 1st gear there's a lot of pull..good power everything. I shift to 2nd..rpms go down to about 2000 rpms...now when I'm regular driving its fine..you don't notice anything. But if I'm trying to get power( give it a good amount gas) it does not accelerate quickly..you know that thrown back into your seat feeling. But when it hits about 3300 rpms, I start flying and all of sudden picks of speed very quickly. Is this just normal for driving this car?

what you described sounds like boost. turbos take a little rpm to spool than you get the surge of boost/power. sounds very normal

Yep you are experiencing turbo lag, our cars don't start making power until you get to the 3k rpm range.

I SO remember the excitement of 1st gear going away so quickly. Its normal. Give it time and you will learn how to make the car stay in it's power band all the time. (And watch your gas gauge drop like an anvil...)

Have fun and be safe. Oh, and Stage 2 is your friend.

Not unless it's a race car.
