Selling back extended Warranty, is it possible?
OK. Does anyoen know who I woudl talk to at the dealership as far as selling my extended warranty back. I have heard it has happend but nothing more than that.
I boguht it at the time I bought my car just in case soemthing happend I bought new. But now it has occured to me I cant do any decent mods to my car unless I am off warranty or void warranty. I spent $2400 on it and I obviously dont wanna throw that away.
At the time I bought it for piece of mind but as all subarus are this is a solid car you know.
SO has anyone been succesful on selling thiers back and if so who at the dealership do I talk to about this.
I bought it at Prestige in Santa rosa if that matters.
TIA- Ryan

Yes it is possible to sell your extended warranty back to the dealership, but its not going to be a cash in hand refund. The money you put towards the warranty will go to the principle of the car, person to talk to would be the sales manager at the dealership....good luck they will try to talk you out of it...

They should send you a check for the full ammount. I did the same thing before I traded in my WRX. I used that check towards the down for the STI.
Keep in mind they will laaaaagggg. It took nearly 3 months for me to get my check.

NOw does it matter if you have your car paid off yet. last night someone said they may take it off the principle if you havent paid off yet but thats were i questions it.
AFter you buy your car the dealership doesnt have anything to do with you paying for your car after that. Its not like they can call up the bank and have them take "x" amount of dollars off.
But the reason you go to the dealership for the refund is becuase techincally you piad the dealership for the warranty.
Does that sound about right. I am calling them on monday. I have an AP, some gauges and a suspension i wanna buy.

You should have no problem getting the dealership to refund the remaining portion of your extended warranty. However, it is pro-rated based on how long you have owned the car. I did the same thing recently and it took about 6 weeks to get the refund check. I am not sure how it works if you are still financing the car though . . .

If your still within factory warranty and you have the car paid off and want the extended warranty back. You have to talk to the finance manager and yes they will try to talk you out of it. Be firm almost an a-hole if you have to. I did and got the whole thing back. Yes it took the usualy TV's 8-12 weeks for delivery but I did get it.
