The only Subarus I ever see are the outbacks and wrx wagons....and old people are driving them. They don't even notice me. I saw a wrx wagon when I was on the freeway a couple of days ago and I went next to him...he didn't even see my freakin' car, and he was a young guy too! The times I see someone young-ish driving an older gen RS like mine (I drive an 01) or a wrx, I get really excited. Yet, they never really notice me, especially the people that drive 04s. The couple of times people have noticed me, I give a really big girly wave and smile. Maybe people don't notice me cuz I'm a girl and they think I don't realize what car I have? I dunno...anyways....if I see a fellow suby I will look at you to get eye contact and give a BIIIIIIG wave!

I see them all the time. Usually, if they're young, they'll wave back. Especially if they're in the older GC8's. Cuz I have a 98 rs.

 

I live in a college town so Subie owners are split pretty much along the lines of young guys with 2.5rs's and WRX/STi's and older hippies with older subarus or outbacks complete with "save the whales, kill the republicans" bumper stickers.
The young guys wave, the old hippies just look at you like, "I don't believe in cars, I'm just driving this because I'm too lazy to walk."
