If you have an AP, just throw on a stock dp, like Paul said and reflash to stage 1. That's really easy to do. It won't pass as aftermarket because visually, it's obviously a non-oem cat, which is illegal in CA.

Visually it wont pass, true. But how many shops care beyond the sniffer? The guy I went to last time didn't really seem to give a **** about anything as long as the sniffer test was passed.

You're safest reinstalling the stock DP and reflashing to stage 1 or stock.

Sorry for the hijack, but what about u guys with the upgraded turbos and supporting mods? Has anyone just thrown on the stock dp and pass without reflashing the ecu? I'm due for smog in the coming months and have the upgraded turbo/supporting mods/EcuTek, plus wrapped headers. U guys think keeping the headers on would be ok?

As long as you have your skidplate, I can't see how they would know about your headers. As far as I have heard, and don't hold me accountable if something bad happens, but I was told that you can easily just throw on the stock downpipe and drive MELLOWLY and CAREFULLY to the closes smog shop and get away without any issues without having to reflash.

The smog tech I went to put my car on a lift and checked every single hose/pipe I had with a flashlight. Same with the hood popped. I don't think many smog techs will be as lenient as stated. Best to throw your stock DP on, shouldn't need to re-flash just stay out of boost until you get your aftermarket DP back on.
