I think that a lot of newer owners just have no idea that an online subie community exists so when they get a wave, they just don't have a clue. My car has i-Club stickers on three sides so that other members should expect a wave from me if I see you first.

Many new drivers of the 02's didn't wave when these cars first came out; same thing when the 03's came out. After a while, when many discovered boards like this, have spoken with other owners, or have been waved to enough times by other drivers, they start to return the waves. Give the 04 drivers some time and they'll catch on; soon these same 04 drivers will complain about how the 05 drivers never wave back.

Another factor as to why we may see less and less waves is simply because, as every year passes, there are more and more owners. Things get diluted.

Incidentally, I've had several 04 drivers initiate waves at me.

Best,

I tried this once; the response wasn't friendly.

where i live in LA theres not too many subys... i give the peace sign to wrxs sti's and any fixed up rs'. when i was in the bay area it seems like subys are a dime a dozen. so after the first 10 peace signs with no response i just started ta ignore them... but down here in la a lot of the other subys wave back.... i think its pretty cool when an old school rs gives the thumbs up... i saw a white one with some gun metal ozs today on wilshire... nice ride~!!

i usually just wave and give them a nod. And surprisingly i started doing this when other suby owners started giving me the wave. I guess from where i live, lots of people are either in i-club, or just really friendly. =P
