I agree with Imprezer. Get a 98-01 2.5RS. Much cheaper than a WRX. Heck even an L will get you results. Ask Kostamojen! later on down the line you can do a WRX endine swap or just trade up to a WRX.

Agree!

Thats the same reason why good drivers get raped by insurance companies, just becase "statistically" they are not that good.

Of course, insurance companies have no other way of determining how good of a driver you are, but it still sucks.

The 10th place finisher at this years Acropolis rally was the youngest ever at only 18.

I agree that there are some bad drivers out there, but the same ones that are crashing their WRXes shouldn't be out crashing their buicks either. ITs the kids that drive the cars, not the cars that drive the kids.
as i said before, not all young drivers are bad drivers. it just shows that young drivers have more of a tendency due to lack of experience. and there are lots of older people that shouldn't be on the road as well.

i believe that everyone should have to retake a driving test (not just a 5 minute thing, a real test that tests your skills) every so often to keep their drivers liscense.

that however will not ever happen, unfortunately

New car with warranty = Warranty can get voided when you start modding it. So whats your point?

An older car with an engine swap sounds great, and is perfectly legal and decidedly cheaper. Save the money you would spend on insuring and paying for a new car and buy yourself a nice plasma TV

Im not quite sure which side of the argument Subie Lover is trying to help But thats ok

I guess some questions for you (GDB_Dragun) would be:

How is your driving record? How long have you been driving?
Is the reason your parents do not want you to have the car is because of your likeliness to get into a collision?other reasons?
Do you plan on modifying your car?Or will you be happy with stock?

It seems that some of us have started our own debates but I dont see where you had mentioned any specific reasons that you can not get one.

I was in the same boat as you when I was 17. My parents wouldn't allow me to get a WRX even tho I had all the money for it. I understood after a week or so of depression but then a thought came to mind.

What looks better than the WRX and is very very fun to drive / auto x? A MY00 GM6 Sedona Red Pearl 2.5RS. It wasn't new but it was well taken care of so I jumped on it and my parents agreed that I wouldn't kill myself in it which I repect them for doing because I know if I had a wrx I wouldn't trust myself.
