Someone posted an article in this forum about this exact thing a few weeks ago. Basically it said the Evo was the sportier of the two but they ended up picking the WRX because of its daily driver qualities (suspension, interior, etc.). The fact that they picked the WRX over the Evo when the Evo is supposed to be competition for the WRX STi says it all for me.
Plus, this is a Subaru board, what kind of answer do you expect to get?

Last I checked the Lancer VII US specs hadn't been released, so anything on that front is still speculation. That said, it may perform slightly better than the WRX, but I'd never buy one because I find the interior quite digusting.

lol That Is Tru The Lancer Is Quite Ugly From Exterior And Interior Tho. But Do You Know Any Good Places I Can Find Good Parts For A WRX Cheaper? Cuz I Am Saving Money for A Turbo Which I Want To Upgrade After I Get The Sedan. And I Alos Heard that The Lancer is 276 Stock HP.

These are old comparisons, but might help:

Note the Evo's tested were UK-Spec. Me, I'm waiting for the STI.

hey
they are pretty well matched cars. if money is an issue for you, then the wrx is the clear choice.
the evo 7 is not being releases here, and the only place to get one in the US is a place that sells them for $35-37k. when the evo 8 gets here, it will have 271hp and 271 ft/lbs of torque. definatly more power than the wrx, but at a price. the base price will be 29,999, and dealers plan on marking them up signifigantly. they are also importing 5k a year for now, so there will be competition to get one. and to boot, they evo 8 is pretty ugly (in a sunfire kinda way)
the wrx is cheaper, and there are atthis time WAY more parts available in the US. the evo 7's parts shouild for the most part fit on the evo 8, but the competition hasnt started to start yet, so the first year mark up for new parts will be pricy (demand will be high, inventory low).
and honestly, the parts for will be about the same for both cars modification wise.
get the rex. you wont be disappointed

Tru Josh what ya said about being more parts for the wrx in the U.S cuz i have been in alot of wesbites that are all wrx parts and i was surprised that they have alot. And I wanted to know is that should I do performance and little bit of exterior or make it seem that its racing . My opionin is do performance and keep my car lookin stock because when i race somebody they prolly think its all stock but when they race me they will find out that its all performance. But I would like to know your opionins too. And I woudl like to know what first mods you think i should do to my car when i get it?? Cuz i cant decide on what to get it so plz help me out.
Thanks Cj,

I swear i have seen this question on this forum like 12 times in the last month. But the refreshing thing is is that on a Subaru website you will still get an inteligent if somewhast biased answer.
Now for my pennies. The EVO 7 vs a Standard WRX the EVO wins it handles better its faster blah blah blah. If you put a STOCK WRX and a STOCK EVO7 on the track/strip/dirt road with the same drivers the EVO will have the better times. I've never drove an EVO so I couldn say weather it is more comfortable or not. The thing about the question is its not a level playing field. The EVO and the wrx arent supposed to be competition for each other, its the EVO and the WRX STI that are competition.
Another thing is if you are on the American market its the EVO 8 we are getting and while im sure someone knows exactly what the car is coming with, that cat is keeping it a secret. Its like the STI alot of specualtion. The point is you cant buy the car based on the current EVO specs because they are very likely to change.
With all that being said I'm not a huge fan of Mitsu due to reliability issues.
