how can people think WRX's are ugly when i see so many pontiacs, saturns, hyundais each day. I do see a lot of nice cars though, since i live right next to Microsoft headquaters and since WRX's are very popular around here.

 

i think camaros and firebirds are the stupidest looking cars on the road. not to mention the looks of the people usually driving them. its either a bleach blonde chick in pink hot pants and a nascar tank top or a dude with a mullet wearing those big fake oakley sunglasses, ripped jeans, and workboots. of course there are exceptions but this is what i see most often.

 

The WRX is a family car. At least I've seen plenty of families driving them when I lived in Japan. And why shouldn't they? Its got power enough to pass people when you need to, its got enough room to haul your family around in, its got AWD so if it snows your not sitting around with a almost useless RWD, its one of the safer cars built in its size and class, and anything that has 4 doors and isn't a SUV or RWD V8 is naturally a family car according to most Americans. Who cares. If I cared what they thought I would be driving a SUV like like the rest of them so that I fit in.

 

Well fella's took one for a ride tonight, I had it pinned to the floor first thru 3rd u know to give it the acceleration factor of jus how fast take off is on the car. The guy that I had with me has a 90 model GT 5.0(wow) anyway, all he said was is that all it has , I could walk all over you, and I was like WTF I mean I know my car is not the fastest thing on the road but it would definitely not get walked on by his car I guess we will jus have to have a lil go at it i'll post the outcome. HEHE

 

The thing is, it's going to be a worthless uphill battle to convince these hicks that your car is worthwhile. They are obviously close-minded and obtuse to the point of being mentally comatose. As you've already seen, their experience won't override their bigotry; even if it does, they would never admit it to you.

One final hurdle is that the WRX won't have the torque and acceleration characteristics of the typical 'merkin V8, so they won't be impressed. Even if they get whiplash from the acceleration, they will not feel that it's fast. To these people, if you can't break the back end loose and burn some rubber, your car ain't fast. Sad, isn't it?

Instead of trying to get everyone to acknowledge that your car is cool, try using it as a barometer. If someone rides in it and says "Holy crap, I love this car! I want one!" That person has just qualified themselves as a potential friend. If they say things like "How come you cain't spin 'em? My F-body is faster. Isn't Subaru only for gay people?" Then you can drop them off at the nearest Circle K and cross them off your list.

That's funny because at the moment I'm driving a 95 TransAm. Its okie I know theres alot of people that don't respect imports and think their V8 is alot better. Truth is, its not. (Am I constantly reminded by my fraternity brothers going down the sr20det road.) Personally I'd rather be driving a rex but until then my TA will do and I'll just ride in my girl's WRX on the sucky wet days in Jersey. BTW im a round filipino with baggy jeans and tims.... lol.

 

Well hell boy, if ya live in WV just tell all your realitives to stop givng ya such a hard time over driving a rex! And take the cutest of you kissin cousins for a ride!.....hehehe
