ok I am gettin sick and tired of everyone and there mother callin my wrx a freakin family car. The funny thing is, is that most of these people do not even come close to knowin the performance of the car they are even laughing at. Like there was this one instance where I had this girl look at my car and go "why did u buy that for it's like a family car and plus it's ugly" and I was like" Just because it has 4 doors doesnt mean it's a family car and I didn't buy it for looks I bought it for the performance" and jus like the guys around here I live in freakin redneck central and if doesn't say camaro or mustang on it, it is considered SLOW!! Anyway this has jus really pissed me off and I had to vent somewhere thanks for lettin me do it here.

AND,...When they puke in it,...post the picture on the places where they hang out!!!

IMO, performance and being a family car are two completely different things. Subaru took a basic, FAMILY sedan, and beefed it up. The performance is great, I'm not arguing that, but it doesn't make it any less of a family car. It's still an Impreza. Hell, you can now get an NA V6 Honda Accord at 240 HP with a 6-speed manual transmission, and beefed up suspension and braking systems. It will tear sh*t up, but it's still an Accord, and it's no less of a family car.

 

I agree. It's both a family car and a performance car. IMO... what a great package

I bought my WRX for many reasons. Performance, AWD system (it hardly snows in tx, but when it does, at least I know if I need to go out, I'll still be on the road an not in a ditch), practicality, and ... hehe ... looks Yeah, I like the bugeye look, consider me strange, but I like it....

Of course, I haven't yet had one person say, "Duh, gee, why'd you get such an ugly car ..." The ladies call it cute, and they guys say nice car ... maybe the original poster needs to move?

 

Beleive me i would like to move, I don't know what there prob is I jus think that they are to country around here like I said if its not a camaro or a mustang or a truck that has 40's on it to go muddin it is overlooked and or called gay or slow. I hate it here but lack the financial status to move so I guess I am stuck for now btw I live in BY GOD WEST VIRGINIA!!!!

i live in connecticut and i have never received that kind of response. Sure i am married with two children and i bought the car for many reasons. First and most importantly its a wrx!! I played the video games and drooled, and saw the commercial and drooled some more. But when i decided to buy a new car it had to serve a few purposes. One 4 door with the kids, AWD living in new england and lastly daddy had to have a toy. And that she is. All my friends who drive many sporty cars know the specs and what the car is about, but when they get in for a ride and the turbo kicks in their expression is priceless. Living in a red neck town with the majority driving mustangs, camaros, and pick ups and are afraid to go against the norm, that is the kind of ignorance you will get. I did buy it as a family car but it is so much more...... Take them for a ride and if u cant stomach their company then @#$$ em. The car is a bad *** and most people i see that knows what they are looking at will nod or acknowledge it. Of course i have to show them on the highways what the car is made of. Dont worry what they think they dont know greatness if it bite them in the ***
