Is it hard to change struts on 02 wrx?

Is it hard to change struts on 02 wrx?

Mine are junk is there a rite up or video? I'm not a gear head so wondering if I should have someone do it for me or attempt and save a few bucks

There are complete DIY write ups for you to follow. If you are going to attempt it yourself, I suggest you read them over multiple times. Also it would greatly help if you have an experienced person watching over you so do not do something stupid to get yourself stuck. Also having the right tools will cut off several hours.

Do the struts just slide out from the housing?

No, in the WRX they are a single unit and do not separate. On an STI you can remove the nut on the bottom of the strut and pull out the damper insert.

Jack up car
rest on stands (or neighbors cat)
remove wheels
struts have 2 nuts/bolts on them (behind brakes)
unscrew the 3 nuts on the strut top in engine bay for front and behind rear seats for rear
done
