advice from subaru tech
I had a short throw shifter installed on my 04 and what a difference, I love it. The tech told me if I put a cat-back exhaust on it would not void my warranty however, messing with the cats definitely will. Is a cat-back system just for sound or will it provide an increase in power? Everyone seems to stress the importance of the up-pipe.

My guy said the same thing... Dont touch the cats. I am waiting to do anything to the cats until I know I am keeping the car for awhile.. I usually trade is less than a year... Gonna go mainly now with easy to change back and some what dealer nice mods.. even if I dont make as much power as someone else

do you guys live near or in NY(not the city)? sounds like a great dealer. i got a muffler, just back to the intermediate pipe, which might as well be catback. but anyway i was told it would void my exhaust warranty. which is still bs but i guess its better than the whole thing
