,95 impreza speedo problems

I have a 1995 impreza and the speedometer pegs at 140 mph when i am only doing around 40. Someone told me it my be a speed sensor. I heard there are 2. Any ideas what it could be ??

Before you do anything, take some pictures out on the road and then post them on forums bragging about this monstrous, jacked 95 Impreza you own that does 140 halfway through 4th gear!

Car Info: GF8 ver6

Do you have MY or AT?
If 5MT, your car has a cable speedo sensor and there is only one.
The cable is connected from the transmission to the speedometer.
You should check if everything is in place. Maybe the sensor is hanging loose.
