Speedo Tach light change

I've seen many 'o links for changing the colors on your HVAC and stereo.... and not one about the main cluster - I've looked... REALLY. Anyone done this? I'm assuming its the same setup with the lightbulb condoms and such. I was just curious about the size and amount of said bulbs so I know what to order without taking apart everything first. <-- lazy. Don't make me buy an STi cluster... they're xpensive... and nothing goes better with "lazy" than "cheap."
On a similar note... anyone break open their stock boost gauge to get rid of the white light?
And finally... what about that clock? Yeah, maybe someday I'll get gauges up there, but right now it's a big green clock that I fear will make my car look too xmasy since I'm swaping to red.

I did all my gauges minus clock.... working on that one.
there are a handfull behind there, but I only changed needles, and I left the gauges white (took off the green condoms) Red numbers and ticks ont he speedo were really hard to see at night. they are the same size as the larger of the 2 in the HVAC cluster.. it was a while ago otherwise i could be more specific, If you need help opening up the cluster there was a good post on scoobymods under "dash lighting" somebody put LED's in instead interesting..

Yep... I read em all... and what do I do? Something different.
A couple of important things here...
First off... fuel/temp/speedo/tach displays are painted onto translucent green plastic. So unless you're looking for a color change to something more... er... green, then whatever you do is gonna be buggered. There is hope though...
Secondly, if you care, you'll be dealing with 5 bulbs. For those of you familiar with the stock stereo light swap mod on scoobymods you'll need three more big bulb condoms (same as HVAC) and two more small bulb condoms. But, of course, none of this matters because of the damn green clocks.... rubbish!
Random thoughts for those interested.....
There are a rediculous amount of gauge face overlays out there that might solve the first problem.
It is pretty simple to get to the stock Subaru steering column boost guage. You can push it from its backside toward you and out of its all rubber housing... inside awaits a bulb (with a blue condom no less... thought that thing was white.) Red boost! Who needs aftermarket when you're crafty?
If anyone wants any firsthand dash dismantling tips let me know.
Last but not least... I didn't use any bulb condoms at all. Just bought a can of Krylon translucent paint designed for fake stained glass. - go to the stupid crafts store, chat up some art chicks and grandmas and pick up a can. I was able to get what I felt was the best color to brightness ratio by adding or thinning... not much flexability with those condoms.
p.s. will someone total their new 04 so I can have their cluster? This has been a PITA!
