have a new age 03 2.5rs, has anybody tried putting the 30amp fuse in to disable the awd and make it front wheel drive.curious on the performance increase

 

I could be wrong but isnt the subaru drivetrain MECHANICALLY connected. To make the car FWD you would have to modify the diff. Now which one im not sure, but they did it in a issue of sport compact car. Now the skyline has the electronically controlled AWD system (ATTESA system) they make attesa controllers for the sole purpose of making them 2wd.

i work at a dealership abd know about the fuse.you put at 30amp fuse left side of engine fuse block.engages or disengages solenoids to turn off awd.

 

Ive heard that that is How Suabaru Dynos their cars to get their HP numbers, Does anyone know if that is true.

 

What advantage would that have over a 4WD dyno? I see them advertised at a lot of performance shops in the area, they seem pretty common.

 

Gotta agree w/ Peaty onj this one. auto have an all wheel drive solenoid located in the back of the tranny. installing the fuse makes it 2wd. but only if you have an automatic.
