quick glance-it looks like a corolla......don't know about this one....

 

i don't like it. it just plain ol lost that impreza look.

i thought the 06-07 front was bad at first but i got used to it and learned to like that 3 piece grill look but this time they really failed.

 

i think they look even horrible in person the hatch is the uglyest thing i have ever seen, the mazda 3 looks better and is faster, the new wrx blows

 

I'm sorry to say but the styling of the new wrx is just plain No wider fenders and poohpiss ugly altezzas. The front is crap; both the bottom hole and the grille configuration should be turned upside down like the photochoppers have been doing. The only thing it has going for it is the interior and the same old 2.5 boxer engine.

 

Im loving it. Had a chance to drive one at one of the local dealerships and i was impressed. Might have to pick one up in rally blue lol

I have to agree looking at the pictures... the sedan looks like a corola, a geoand a focus mixed into one. It really looks like an econo car and really downplays the potential and abilities of the car. I'll wait for the sti and if it too is as ugly as the wrx, I'm gonna have to sell out to either an evo or skyline!

 

I rode with a friend that test drove an 08 hatch. The build quality is significantly better. The doors (and everything else, for that matter) sound sturdy and solid. The cluster looks pretty cool, and both the hood and the rear door have dampers stock. Taking a closer look under the hood, I noticed slight improvements (imo) in the design of the air box and inlet hose, so I wouldn't be surprised if there were other improvements that helped it hit full torque 800 rpm earlier. But by far, the best thing about the 08 wrx... telescoping steering wheel. SO cool. My verdict, though? As a whole, the 08 wrx is a complete failure. It took steps towards every direction except the one that really matters: performance. In that sense it's not much better than the bugeye was 6 years ago, which to me, is inexcusable. Sure, it's more comfortable, quieter, roomier, etc. but imo, that just makes it LESS of a wrx. Riding it, I just felt like it's lost its heart. There IS one person I would recommend it to, though... my mom.
