i have a 92 loyale 4wd 1.8

when it first starts it has a very noticeable hesitation thru 1st and 2nd gear. white smoke with a funny smell, after it warms up it runs fine. the oil pressure seems very low while idleing the gauge reads maby 10.

i am thinking of doing a ring/valve job. any suggestions on step by step text from opening the hood - closeing the hood? if i can find good dirs on how to do this i would like to try it myself.

any suggestions on increasing the hp some? i am thinking of a better exhaust system,air flow system or some other simple way to add a few xtra hp for hills and such. i love this car it is great for camping,fishing,hiking,snow/mud etc fair on gas and insurance.
