Why I'm not getting a STi.
So I have decided that I am not going to purchase an STi, but rather a WRX instead. First of all, for being almost $7,000 more than the WRX, there is a lot that I could with a WRX with $7,000. The STi is 73 horses more than the WRX, which is a lot, but not hard to add that much more yourself to the WRX. I don't like the ground effects that come with the STi, because I have never liked ground effects, and they just look cheap to me. I don't care for the two-toned seats which to me just doesn't look like they match the car. The gas mileage sucks, which seems useless to me, when about 10% of the time I will be driving the car I will actually be racing it and putting the STi to use. I hate the oversized rear wing, which just looks stupid to me. And after all this the car doesn't even come with a radio! So these are the reasons why I'm sticking with the WRX. Anyone else getting a WRX instead of a STi in the near future?

Yep a 2004. I want black for sure, and I'll probably hold off on any extra's, because I could do all that on my own for a lot cheaper. I want to get either 6 or 5 star bronze rims, which I think looks really good on black. I'll probably front mount the intercooler, throw in an intake, exhaust and maybe a chip if I can find anything worth while, a short shifter, gauge cluster that mounts on the left windshield beam, and probably a lot of other stuff. God I can't wait!

Just curious. Have you actually seen an STI in person yet? Or are you basing your decions on pictures from magazines and from the web?
I'm not flaming you, and I respect your decision, but I had similar thoughts about the Sti myself, but after I actually sat in one I knew I had made the right decsion for me in buying one.
Thanks

Lets see... you used the word STI and WRX so maybe they need a wrx/sti forum.. no wait you are asking a question .... no wait you are making a statement.. no wait... I usually check all the forums and read em all.. so I dont care where you put it and I dont know why some people get so upset about that.. if it sounds like it goes there put it there.. i say

And yes for your topic.. As the one guy said.. you will be happy either way. If you enjoy modding as much as I do, then you will really like the WRX more than the STI. The STI is like if I bought a BENZ. I would really be too scared to mod it.. and would probably leave it stock.sooo more fun with the WRX
