Why I'm not getting a STi.

If you are into the "do it yourself" think while saving money, they you need to look more at the "buying an old Impreza L for <$5000 and spending $10000 in mods" route 
And then you could own WRX's and STI's at will, as well as scare the pants off anyone who doesnt know better

#2 Yeah, I guess it is more fun to have ABSOLUTELY NO FREAKIN WARRENTY!!! Sorry, I find it fun to have a car that has all the power and performance and is covered if something should ever break.
Sorry, I don't mean to flame you or anything, but this whole topic has gone round and round. Buy what you want and leave it at that. You'll be happy that way.

You can argue all day whether or not the STi is a better value than the WRX, but the bottom line is:
The STi is superior to the WRX.
I just traded in the WRX for the STi. I think the STi looks silly, but after 300 mi I am a believer.
Once you drive the STi you won't even want to sit in the WRX.

uhhh yeah. Mach5WRX was correct. your not going to be able to get a stock WRX better than an STi for 7k...or even 8k if you count a nice stereo and speakers(which would be much better than the crappy stock WRX speakers)
He listed it all an that doesn't even include tuning the car, not ot mention bye bye warranty of any kind. if you have the money there is no reason not to get an STi. Besides dude. ITS AN STI!!!! you like people staring in amazement at you car. i know i do!! otherwise i am sure we would all have a 1000 dollar hunk of $hit with a massive engine in it. but we don't. why casue we like to look GOOD in our cars and have people admire them. so you have a WRX, i have one and yeah when they first came out everyone was going crazy, but now....now its the Evo's and STi's turn. getting a WRX is worthless unless you put a LOT, i am a LOT of work into it.
and about the Wing and such. dude you could sell that for a pretty penny on ebay. i am sure lots of wrx kids would want it! some would probably trade you the stock stereo for it! ok well hope this helps with you decision.

mach5 you are the man, and you are correct all the way. yes i would be just as happy owning a new 04 WRX. but i would always know and always respect the mothership STi. i would never say "oh it has ugly spoiler, oh it has ugly logos, oh it has ugly hood scoop." its like learn to appreciate and like eating vegetables already.
whoever thinks the sti is ugly.. i think they are ugly themselves... because they got ugly taste. the STi is BEAUTIFUL.
