STI performance numbers according to UK website
As many of you know, the 2004 sti UK version comes standard with 265 HP (0-60 in 5.17 secs) but if you get the sti performance pack, total output would increase to 300hp and 299lbs of torque ( which means it would equal to our sti version--man are we lucky to get me most powerful STI (stock). 0-60 for the 300hp is 4.62, 0-100 =12.20 secs. This numbers are subaru's track numbers. I am pretty sure we can always do better than that! Everything in this option comes standard in our model as far as I know!
STi Performance Pack
Power-
This pack raises Peak Power to
305ps (300bhp) @ 6000rpm - a
15% increase.
Torque-
Peak torque is now 405Nm
(299lbft) @ 4000rpm
The car now has more torque
between 3000 and 5800rpm
than the std car has at it's peak
figure. At 2500rpm it has nearly
30% more torque than the std
car and 20% more at 3000rpm.
Parts changed are as follows-
Revised EMS (Engine
Management System)
High flow catalyst
Sports silencer
Performance fuel pump
Performance figures-
0-60 = 4.62 secs Vs 5.17 secs
(std car)
0-100 = 12.20 secs Vs 13.69
secs (std car)

So the times dont correlate the real acceleration.
--something to think about--
944 turbo guy
PS The uk STI has a 6 speed but also has a redline of 7800 rpm and so it can rev higher a reach qaurter mile in 3rd gear at like 7750 rpm,..........starting to make sense?
The other thing to think about,.........our STI has stupid amounts of torque that the UK STI doesnt have until boost comes in.
The US STI has a redline of 7000 rpm, cutting things short a little for the "numbers" game and testing purposes.

Don't forget, even thought the UK STi with the performance package has the same PEAK numbers that they are peak. With the US STi being a 2.5 we should expect a much greater area under the curves, or basically the same power for more of the RPM range, therefore giving better acceleration than the UK version.

something thats common in the airplane engine industry, they take into consideration that americans are a bunch of sue-happy bastards. for example the same exact engine is rated at 7000 hours for the us and 10000 hours for everyone else. because when an american's engine burns up we're much more likely to sue the manufacturer.
