STi Owners - Need Help!

My STi arrived at dealership. Salesman allows me to drive it to gas-up, car has not been prep yet. Taking it easy and shifting gears at 4K RPm's. 2nd, 3rd very smooth, 4th definite vibration at gearshift **** (RPM's went down to around 3K between shifts), shift to 5th at 4K RPM and the vibration goes away??? Only does it at 4th and gear shifter feels very different from other gears! Also, does not feel like motor needing downshift, although this is only STi I've driven and only for 5 miles.

Does any one out there with his US STi 's felt this vibration? Do you know what could cause it, will it go away or do I have a bad transmission in the car? I will close in tomorrow, Memorial Day? Salesman felt it two, mechanics were not available (Sunday) to check. Need answer quick, thanks!

Try driving it for another 100 miles and see if it starts to go away. If not, bring it back in.

I didnt notice anything like that in my STI and I now have 1300mi on it. I think you really need to give it more time though...atleast a couple hundred miles....it may get worse....and it may disappear....

Thanks Kostamojen and Acarguy! Maybe I'm just hyperventilating this vibration issue and it will solve itself or it will be repaired under warranty. CA and HI! Lived in both places, great diving and beach scene. Enjoy your STi's!
