My plan is to get 2005 STi before the summer..
then 2006 or 7 STi Legacy when I grow up and become a family man (should be a family man by then)..

Hey Subzero,

I'm and HMC stationed on the USS Dallas in CT. Only have a modded WRX. Don't know if I want anything harsher, love the way it handles bad roads, and the reasonalbe road noise.

No regrets. But I would not have paid more than 32k for the car. Bought mine at MSRP and would never buy it for more no matter how much I like the car. Why you ask? Simple:

The beauty of the WRX and the STi is not only the performance you get but the fact that it's the best performance you can get for the money.

3k markup is debatable. But I've seen markups as high as 10k!
With 42k it's very easy to find a used 2001 M3 or an M coupe with no more than 30k miles. Look hard enough and you can find them for under 40k. So if I had to pay a typical 5k markup, 37k, I would rather have sit tight a year or so and gone M.

After all performance always comes first but if you can get performance AND luxury.... Just my opinion.
