regretting STI?

This is by far the most entertaining car I've ever owned. I look for any excuse now to 'run to the store', 'drive the babysitter home' or even 'pick up the in-laws from the airport'! My wife thinks I'm nuts and I'm sure she's starting to regret putting me on the waiting list all those months ago.

My Avant was great car other than the fact that it broke once a month religiously, and I live an hour from the dealer. At first no big deal, I'd drop it off, they'd give me a Range Rover to drive, and I'd pick it up the next day. But after 1 and a half years of this ritual. I modded a WRX and got an Outback to go with it. Neither one ever, ever, ever breaks. And it wasn't just that car, I've owned 7 new VW/Audi products and had the same luck with all of them. Great cars, lots of content, great performance, but in the end poor design and exicution in engine and electrical subsystems ruin what should be the best cars on earth in my opinion.

I love my STI!!! I'm still breaking it in, but I think it's awesome. Like 'Cone Killer', I find myself driving around just to drive around. Can't wait to go WOT. Gauges are sweet, handling is great, power is solid even under 4K. My company now gives us a choice of giving us a company car (SUV's like Toyota Highlander, Ford Explorer or 4drs like Accord or Camry), and all expenses paid including insurance and maintenance, or $550/month allowance plus free gas for your own car of choice. I know I loose out financially, but have NO REGRETS buying the STI myself and getting the monthly allowance. After over 10 years of driving company cars, I got choose what I really want to drive. My daily driving is now always a pleasure. I couldn't be happier!

The car does have road noise, but it's tolerable. I'm going ape shet without a stereo/cd player though. I find myself singing the last song I've heard when I drive. I think it's just a matter of time before I start talking to myself in the car.

I was talking to myself just one mile after pulling away from the dealers lot. It was like I had Tourette Syndrome as I'd be saying stuff out of nowhere like;
Daaang!
*****
$hit
Oh $hit
Holy *****
Oh Lord!
Lord help me!
Jeeessssuuussss
Geez
Shazam!
What the?
What the *****?
What the hizzie?
That's what I'm talkin' about!
Pow!
Click, click, BANG!
And a whole bunch of other phrases, sounds and bad werdz.
Then as I got more accquainted with the 'She-Hulk' I started humming songs to myself like;
'Radar Love' by Golden Earring
'S.W.A.T.' theme song by Ennio Morricone
'Dukes of Hazzard' theme song by Waylon Jennings
'Knight Rider' theme song by Unknown
'Don't Believe the Hype' by Public Enemy
'Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos' by Public Enemy
'In a Gadda Da Vida' by the Jim Morrison
'Convoy' theme song by Kris Kristofferson
'Bad, Bad Leroy Brown' by Jim Croce
And again, a whole bunch more song but you get the idea.
Not to mention the 'Vroom, Vroooooom' song by Subaru Techinca International.

Who needs a radio when you got all that?
