Cornering and Handling: STi vs Evo

Yellow Rex,
My Japanese is not what it used to be, but that ECU looks like a JDM one (please excuse me if I'm wrong).......my original post said, "where is the evidence of Ralliart releasing a specifically designed/upgraded ECU for the USDM Evo".....a JDM ECU is unlikely to be directly inter-changeable with a USDM (hate to say it, "watered-down") Evo VIII.....unless you have a PhD in computer science, or something.....in which case you can probably break their code and do your own re-flashing ?
The point is, until Ralliart (or someone else) designs an ECU specifically designed for the USDM Evo (similarly with Prodrive for the USDM Sti) then we're left with the stock comparison of 271 versus 300 bhp at equal curb weight.........

Same deal for the "Sports Muffler Kit"... I send my $$$ and get my stuff, I'll bolt it on and presto! I'm done. I know for a fact that a properly designed exhaust upgrade can do wonders for a turbo charged car. maybe not much more HP, but it certainly can open up the top end power that usually goes mushy with stock exhausts......
I don't know if it will be 271 hp or 280 hp or who knows what vs. 300 hp, but I do know that it will be a much improved car. Now, you take and EVO VIII and improve it.... well, my friend, it'll be one heck of a fast car

Forget it, if the STi costs more than $3K over the EVO, there is no doubt that the EVO can be safely and easily modified with factory parts for 1/2 that price and get 30 more hp than the STi. Sorry man, I love Subbies too, but this aint even close. EVO rules

Yes, an "EVO rules", but they're both superior cars that are gonna own the streets for a while, and neither one is going to really outshine the other, and if you think otherwise you're kidding yourself.
