I used tie down straps and strapped my sub (single 10") to the rear strut bar.

$8.00 and 5 minutes to secure.

At least on the WRX and STi... There are 2 metal bars that run vertically behind the seats. Unless your box is smaller than the opening these bars make, it'll keep it from flying into the passenger compartment.

I actually haven't looked at that, just the seats themselves. But I know what you're talking about.

I suppose that would stop a standard box from coming through, but still...I'd rather not test it.

FYI: Plumber's tape is not metal tape. Plumber's tape is a teflon tape that is non-sticky, used to wrap the threads of a pipe to get a water-tight seal.

The only metal tape I know of is real, aluminum-backed Duct Tape.

in mine car beneath the carpet is this sort of ?ber cardboard stuff. it is quite strong but also flexible. i used 2 L brackets and just put some screws through the ?ber cardboard stuff. but be careful not to use too long of screws because ur spare tire is down there (i know this from experience)

Yeah, and what holds that "über cardboard stuff" to the floor of the car?

Aside from the cardboard, you need a bracket to the back of the seat. I have one on each side plus the two on the board. It never moves even in autocross.

Wait till someone pulls out in front of you and you nail them going about 25....your uber cardboard is gonna end up in the front seat.
