Question Stock Stereo randomly ejecting CDs

I did a search w/ no results.

I have a 2002 WRX w/ the stock 6 cd changer. Sometimes when I change discs or just turn the stereo on it will eject the cd for no apparent reason.

Anyone else experience this? Know what I can do?

thanks

Actually, this has happened to me.

I would turn on the stock CD player on my wrx 2002.
Then the CD would come out of the CD player for no reason.

For about 2 weeks, i didnt play a cd. Then I decided to put in a CD and it
worked fine again.

Mine worked all better after some time. I would try unplugging the battery for 10 seconds or so, then reconnecting the battery. See if that helps. Otherwise, I dont know.

Still, I am considering upgrading my CD player now because of this problem you described.

i haven't had it happen with a normal CD, but with burned audio CDs the CD ejects ~ %30 of the time when it comes to a particular track. seems to happen to low bitrate tracks; i've only had the car a week but so far it's been 2-3 tracks, all low bitrate, that it happens to. i want a player that will read data CDs with folders anyway so am not concerned..
