Stero Problem - Honda Accord
Hi,
My car battery went down once, after recharging Stero is not working. Intial it asked for code but I did recognise that it is asking for code and I didn't enter that code even thoe I have. I played with all the keys and it is showing err-3 error.
How to get the promot to ask for code to provide security code to make it work.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Ramesh

Don't know. If you messed around too much tho it may have gone into permanent lockout. Because otherwise, thiefs could steal it and simply get something to enter all codes. I think they usually give you quite a few tries, but after than something inside it blows. You could try taking it to your dealer. Why are you here tho if u've got a honda accord, seems like ppl on a honda forum could help more? Good luck
Sure, by using google, I found http://www.honda-tech.com/ as the first hit. But feel free to stay here
it just seems like for questions about your car you'd get more help from a forum for your car. I don't want to scare u away or anything (note to mods, I don't tell everyone to use other forums
)
Good luck

After 3 mistakes at entering the code the radio locks out any further attempts at the code. If you have the code you can go to the dealer and have the radio reset. Some dealers will charge up to $80.00 (labor to remove radio), you can remove it yourself but remember to give the dealer the VIN number of your car and the serial # of the radio, as the code is based on those two numbers. My dealer was cool and didn't charge me anything.
Good Luck!
