I think the latest Car and Driver or Motor Trend has reviews on these 20-something sedans. Personally, I really like what Mazda is doing with their cars right now...just wish they had a little more umph (don't forget the Mazda V6 is really a retuned FORD 3.0L...you decide if that is good or bad).

Mazda 6
I recently test drove the Mazda 6 in the 6 cylinder also in 5 speed. This car had the leather interior with heated seats, heated side view mirrors, bose stereo system, and a very nice lip kit from the factory. I give it two thumbs up and was willing to take it home with me right then and there. Since Im still paying for the 02 WRX I didnt do this but you catch my drift. Then the dealer went and asked if I wanted to trade in my WRX for the Mazda and ruined everything we had worked on in the relationship. I felt like smacking him but decided to get into my little scooby and let my blow off valve, full turbo back exhaust, and intake show him why I would never do such a stupid thing. But all in all I liked the 6 alot and would go with that over the Honda anyday.

silverrexxx- hahaha, i guess you hate me too then even
though i have a silver wrx too.
i think ill have to go with the 6 because the new accords are
starting to look more and more like a pop's car. the accord
coupe is ok, but still, looks butt slow from the box. in this
day and age, its got to look pretty fast from the factory, then
even faster with some minor options and aftermarket...plus
its got to be affordable.

For those who doubt the merits of the Ford Duratec engine, a few points:
1. Duratec block only - all other parts are Mazda engineered.
2. Duratec block used in Noble M12 with twin turbochargers to make over 500 hp. Think this block is weak?
3. Duratec block used in Jaguar V12 (two Duratecs) to make over 500 hp.
4. Duratec block designed with the help of both Porsche and Cosworth. 'Nuff said.

Given those two choices, I like the Mazda. Not as common as the Accord and a bit cheaper (on the front end anyway - who knows how the maintenance would compare).

forgot to mention i looked at a 6 the other day. very nice, although the dealer did not have a 5 spd in stock. the car felt very substantial. much like a friends acura 3.2 tl type s. the car has quite a few nice little touches to it. however i was not impressed with the bose audio system. it sounded flat-it may have needed a little fine tuning to get the sound i prefer.

I would get the 6. They are very comparable cars, but I don't want to drive a car that I will see on the road 1000 times in the same color (3000 if you count all colors) during a trip to the store. R&T and C&D both say that the 6 is the sportier of the two. It's less expensive, and looks better IMO.
