So whats the trick to getting the Head unit out?

I took off all 4 screws...Im done for tonight(no taking out 4 screws is not all I did ), but anyways...I took them out and tryed pulling, I didnt spend to much time as I dont have have the wiring harness yet..I just wanted to see what I am getting into...From looking at it, it seems as if it will be an easy install...how do I pull the deck out though?....is there a trick to it or do I just pull?

Thanks,
Zoeb

no trick. just pull, but try unplugging all the wires first before you take out the entire head unit.

6 Screws, not four. You need to look at that scoobymods page I linked on your other post. It has the screw locations. It's easy as pie then.

I would really doubt someone makes such a thing, but you never know. I know you can get the subie harness, and if you can ID the BMW harness, you might be able to get an adapter, and solder the whole damn thing up. Best bet would be to get the stock harness plug from a beemer and solder that to the female subaru harness. Give a BMW dealer a call, or call crutchfield, see what they have to say. They might have a better solution.

My JVC unit came with its own propreitary plug in the back, but it came with the harness to match that connection. That's what I soldered to the subaru harness.

Again, good luck, and i'd love to see some pics when its done.

nah...I think i'll just cut the BMW harness off the kenwood harness then wire it up normally...I just thought that if there was such a plug I would have just bought that and then it would have been done w/o any soldering at all, no big deal though..
