Remote Start + rear defrost/wiper deicer
I've been doing some researching on this website and a couple others regarding installing a remote start. The unit I'm getting installed on Friday with the help of an experienced friend is the "Omega MAX". I've read so many articles on how to wire the neutral and ebrake switches that i think i'm totally lost now. So I guess what i'm asking is if someone could tell me the best way to hook everything up I'd really appreciate it. The car is a 2004 WRX 5MT.
1.) Neutral switch (which is positive/negative, where's it go?)
2.) Ebrake switch (can i use this sorta as a back up if the neutral switch failed for some reason?)
3.) How will i connect the rear defroster since it's like a soft switch?
4.) Can i connect the wiper de-icers/defrosters some how?
Also, any general pointers about the install that might save some time and aggervation might be helpful.
Thanks for any replies.

i dont know about that alarm but most remote starts wont start with the hood wire grounded(i.e. hood open) so what i did was wire the neutral position switch off the ecu to my hood wire of my aralm...
so when my car isin gear there is a ground on that wire so my car wnt start
the defoger you would have to use an ext off the alarm... i dont know what triggers the gefoger pos or neg but you will have to wire a relay

You don't have to use the neutral switch, i didn't because I never leave my car in anything but neutral. as for questions 3 and 4 i think you're out of luck on those because you can't leave them on and if you started the car with them on or turning on it would drain the **** out of your battery.
you could wire the defroster you just need to use an ext fron the alarm to trigger so you would remote start your car then hit cahannel 2 on you remote and you defroster would come on

Help needed
I've hooked up a remote start on an '04 Forester.
I finished splicing the wires, and leading everything the way the instructions told me.
Something is wrong.
I believe it has to do with the keyless entry module wire.

It's not an accident waiting to happen, it's an idiot waiting to happen. I've had my remote start for over a year and I've never even come close to starting with the car not in neutral. This country has become way to safe and scared thanks to lawyers.

one, but this is for an older toyota truck (mine), was to check if a latching relay would work. it didnt.
which then led to me a small maker of pulse triggered:

check out the first item.
it didnt work for me thought...

good luck on your project...

Thats why you use the good sense god gave you. If you know someone else has been driving your car you don't use remote start. Before you let someone else drive your car you turn it off. Not hard to do.

build a magnetic switch circuit like i did!!!
i will never own any car w/out a remote starter, especially since they often include a turbo timer mode too. what i HIGHLY recomend however is that you take the time(1-2 hours) to include a magnetic switch circuit around your shifter. it is easy, and the parts will cost you under $30.00 US. use DEI part number 8600: if you can not find them you can order them from my store www.xtremeperf.com or cal 508-620-XTRM and ask for bob m-f 10-6. I maybe able to send you pics of the install on the M3 if you need them, but basically you mount magnets on the shifter, and the receivers around the outside edges of where the shifter travels when in gear. you series them all together and when in gear they will see a contact, which breaks the circuit, and won't let the car start. fool proof, doesn't matter who drives your car, it just won't start if left in gear.
