Need help hardwiring Valentine 1
Hey guys,
I need a few questoins answers about hard wirering my valentine 1.
First off, how do you get the guage pod removed so i can run the wire through my dash.
Second can i just wire the power wire to the ignition wire and then just run the ground to the obvious a grounding locatoin.

Have you checked the mod forum over at www.scoobymods.com? They have a thread with photos and instructions on hard-wiring a radar detector.

You can actually hard wire it through the map lights. That is the way I just did it last night. Here is a link to help you out.

It depends on where you want to put the main unit. Do you want it up high by the rear view mirror or down low by the dash? If you want it up high then you can use the map lights (but I think that will be on all the time) if you want it down by the dash, then I say tap into the cig lighter wires. That's switched and will come on with the key.

Just hard wired my V1 this week...use the map lights (there's a post with a pic in 'interior, exterior, & lighting,' I just posted to the wrong forum...
There is a switched 12V wire up by the map lights that comes on and off with ignition...I explained it in my post...here's the link:
