My Battery Dies Very Easily

We dont' really have an 'electrical' forum, so here goes.

I have a new 05 WRX with about 650 miles on it.

If I leave 1 interior maplight light on for more than about 6 hours, the battery is gone and it needs to be jumped. If I leave my parking lights on, it needs to be jumped.

Is this normal? Doesn't seem that way to me - my previous vehicles never had such a problem. Do you guys find that your Subaru has a weak battery, or do I need to hassle my dealer?

Talk to the dealer. Ask them to do a battery test. All that should be covered under warranty.

my 02 battery did the same thing, I replaced it with an optima red top from walmart. I got the 35/75 size and 2 battery posts that thread in.
I laid the batery on it's side and the cables fit perfectly.

Hmm - that looks like a decent install - may have to give it a try. Stupid dealer said 'works fine for us'.

fyi

instead of getting a group 35/75 red top, get a 35R red top. It's a direct fit. That's what I put in my wrx. I bought mine at my local Sears Auto.

Second that. By the way, it's just a plain old group 35. 35-910 was the part # when I just got mine.
