If you have the factory Subaru alarm system then yes, you can buy another remote transmitter and program the alarm system to accept the new transmitter code. You can also delete the old code by overwriting it with the new one. The factory alarm saves up to four transmitter codes. To overwrite old codes, you simply save the new code four times. If you have two transmitters, save them both two times each.

For details on how to program alarm codes, see your Owner's Manual. I think it's section Two - Doors and Locks.

As for changing your door locks, I would have them changed or re-keyed just for peace of mind. Your alarm can be disabled if they have the master ignition key.

Question JDM RA Spec-C key remote

Sort of on the same topic...do you know if the JDM RA Spec-C key remote will work with US alarms? Curious if anyone has tried. If they do, where could I source one?

Thanks!
