Need another set of keys and fob

recently purchased 2009 forester. Problem was that it only had one set of keys. The dealer wants $300 for a new set with a fob and programing fees? WTF? Where in the bay area can I get a new set made ?

I just bought a used alarm fob for my 02 Forester from eBay. Just make sure when you buy one, the FCC ID is the same. And if you have the original owners manual, it should have a section on there on how to program the fob. And you should be able to buy a key blank from any local Wal-Mart or hardware store or again eBay/Amazon usually will have them as well. Good luck with finding what you need.

Wrong info. You cant buy jist any key. Your car has an immobilzer thus it needs to be prgrammed to your car. You can use it to unlock and but not start if you choose not to program it. Amd keyfob goes the same. Its not the old style that you can program youself.

I am still working on this issue. As you can see it's not that a big of a deal, yet. I have found out that the keys are specialized and needs to be the correct one. and the fob needs to be programmed. I have spoken to locksmiths and they have suggested to an auto locksmith and have it done there, (ordering and cutting) that way you know that it is done right. Plus it's like half the price. Bonus!!!!
